Brasil is the largest country in South America and the fifth largest country in the world (by both geography and population). The Brasilian economy is also one of the world's largest and one of the fastest growing. The wealth of natural resources Brasil is sitting on has caused many to take note, while some even predict it will be the next global power. Things are looking up for Brasil, as the world has granted the country two of the world's biggest sporting events taking place in the next 6 years.

Not everything is encouraging, however, as the country struggles with major crime problems as well as the devistating effects of infanticide. Much must change in order for Brasil to maintain and foster the growth and opportunities that lie in front of them.
