Why is Grace moving to a new giving system?

Grace recently made the decision to move to a new online giving system called 'The City'. The City is much more than an online giving system however. The City is Grace's new online community that is quickly becoming our primary communication tool, place for people to connect when they're not together in person, place for people to connect into our smaller communities called Grace Groups, and so much more.

Online Giving is a part of this new community, and, so rather than manage two different systems we decided to move to only one online giving system. This way people also aren't having to remember multiple log-in ID's and can easily give while interacting with others on The City. The functionality of this system is very user friendly as well allowing people to create pledges, see past giving (as well as household giving), and print out reports right at home.

What does this mean if I'm still using the previous system?

At the present, the previous system is still up and running just like normal. You can still continue to do everything you used to be able to do. Nothing has changed with that system.

Do I have to be a member of this new system to be able to continue giving?

No, you can give through The City without creating an account or being a member. Just click on the button to give through our NEW system and at the next web page choose to give without a City account. It will take you through the proper steps to give online.

What are the benefits of signing up with this new system?

There are plenty of benefits to signing up with our new system The City. One big reason is that you'll be connected with the larger Grace Community. You'll then be up to date on everything that's going on throughout the community. It will also save you time and Grace money. Once you've signed up the system allows you to make changes or set-up recurring giving extremely easy. AND, the fees are a little bit lower than our previous system which means that you'll be maximizing your giving by giving through The City.

How do I sign up for this new system?

Very simply, send an email to info@gracenyc.org and request an invitation.

Can I still view my giving history in this new system?

Absolutely. In fact, you should be able to the moment you sign up. We transferred our previous system over to The City and when you sign up it will match your email address to our previous database and you'll automatically be able to view your giving from the past 2 years. If it doesn't show up, it means that we may have an old email in our database. That's easily solved, though. Just send an email to finance@gracenyc.org and we'll take care of it within 24 hours.

Will you be discontinuing the previous system?

Not immediately. That's still several months away. When we do we'll contact anyone that is still giving through the previous system and help them to transfer over to the new system. We'll confirm that their records are transferred over successfully and we'll help to make the switch as painless as possible.
